2nd gen springs on 3rd gen pickup?

This is probably a stupid question but my google-fu is failing me. I'm about to order a new set of OME springs for my '89 pickup but I happened to see some for a great deal on our local CL but they're from an '88. I'm struggling trying to find the actual dimensions for these springs. From what I see, I think the 2nd gens are too short to work on a 3rd gen but I can't seem to really confirm that.

Any input?

Thanks guys! The length is definitely different by about 4" between the two generations. I went ahead and bit the bullet for some new OME's.

Cheers!
