The air cleaner has a bad gasket/seal between the air cleaner and carb but, Toyota says it is a discontinued part.
This is a rubber grommet basically and as far as I am concerned, it is detrimental to proper performance of the air cleaner but, Toyota doesn't think it is important or worth it to keep them on a shelf somewhere on planet earth so I need to know where I can buy a new one from someone that thought they are still important, anyone have a source they can share with me?
I bought one from Toyota about six months ago so they were not discontinued then.
Are you talking about this gasket? I know the other gaskets in the diagram below are discontinued but gasket 17848 below was still available when I bought mine. Check with a different dealer just to be sure. I have had times where one dealer said a part was discontinued and went to another and ordered the part.
You can try 22RE Performance. They have this gasket listed in their "Fuel Injection / Carburetion / Filter" section

Yes that is the part and Hamer Toyota said yesterday that the part is NLA, oh well.
I found and ordered a reproduction part for $9.00 + $8.00 shipping, I'm happy now.
