1986 yota pickup 4wd fuel pump

I have a 1986 Toyota 4WD single cab (RN63) 22R with carb but electric fuel pump. Trouble is, there are NO WIRES where the pump bracket is. Only wires are on sending unit. Are they wired inside of tank? If I have a carb, is there a mechanical fuel pump? I am changing tank, sending unit, fuel pump and fuel pump bracket as they are rusted to crap. Thanks for any help. i think that the factory 22r came with a mechanical fuel pump that's bolted to the front passenger side of the head.

"if i have a carb" sounds like you really don't know what you have, because determining if it's efi or carb should be pretty straightforward.

maybe post up a couple of detailed pics of the engine compartment.

yea, just after I sent the thread I thought, Hey, go out and LOOK to see if you have a mechanical fuel pump. And I do. So, there is no wonder there are no wires as There is no electric fuel pump in the tank. But it's so rusted (the guy I bought it from parked it next to fertilizer) and so it's rusted to crap. So I have to change it. I really should have peaked my senses when NONE of the pipes coming out had hose clamps (No higher pressure couplings) Sorry, I'll be more prepared when I post...

carb makes it much simpler to troubleshoot.
