occasional starting troube for 89 22re pickup

from time to time, my truck refuses to start. the electrical comes on, radio, auxillary devices, etc but the starter won't even engage. sometimes i can push the clutch cancel button and it will fire right up, but this doesn't work everytime. i'm not sure what to do for it. i've searched the internet quite a bit looking for people that have this same issue but have found nothing

Have you looked at the truck at all??

Time to break out the Multimeter

Sounds like a bad ground .

Battery terminals clean and tight not broken

Might be time for a starter rebuild

Is there any pattern at all??

It only happens parked on a grade ??

Only happens when it rains for a week??

I am betting bad ground when the weight shifts you lose your ground.

Might be time to upgrade the ground cables

Go thru RADS build https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199.../#post51947160 Some of the things you can do is clean the contacts in the Starter Relay that is located on the passenger inner fender. I have replaced the contacts in the starter and those help but what has solved my No Start problems that are related to just the Clicking Only is what RAD suggest.
