L43 woes
I just rebuilt my 20R and dropped it back in 2 days ago, and today on my way home from getting new tires, the U joint closest to transfer case went out @ 70Mph (yep she'll go 70 now) crazy what a new set of bearings n, rings will do for these old motors.
Anyway it cracked the adapter that goes between transfer case and transmission. Doh. I took rear shaft out and eased it home dumping gear dope along the way.
I have a posting in WTB, but also wanted to ask here if anyone that has made the conversion to 5 speed might still have this part lying around. it is the plate transmission shifter bolts too. only specific to 79-80 4speed. If anyone can help please let me know. this truck means a lot, and I haven't even got engine broke in.

Found one. Prolly paid too much but what do you do. I like my L43 side shift. glad that piece was the weakest link.
Just got through air hammering old u joint out. it was something to behold. I got some cheap-o u joints I got @ rock last year but they don't have zerks. now to find some decent oem u joints. anyone know where to find some Nipponese ones?
