Just wanted to share this everyone in case anyone else had thought about doing this. I was never confident I had my Weber carb tuned as well as it needed to be so I wanted a way to verify and monitor how it's runs (I do low voltage HVAC control work for Trane so this right up my alley). I found a simple A/F gauge at Summit Racing that was fairly cheap and really good customer reviews so I have it a shot.



I thinking ship was $10 so about $75 total rounded up. The best part about this gauge is it fits in the SR5 oil/voltage pod. I had bought one off eBay years ago and never installed it. I removed the volt meter (already have a different one in my overhead console) and put the gauge in its place. Also wired up the oil pressure gauge while I was at it.



Personally I love this, I was able to get my carb tuned in pretty well (still doing fine tuning adjustments and trying different timing settings with it) and see how It runs at ~3000rpm where I typically run it.

As far as wiring it was only 3 wires. An ignition power wire, a ground, and a wire for the oxygen sensor. I had a buddy weld up the sensor fitting for me in just a few minutes. We located it right here:



Overall I think this was a good investment!

I think I would have gone with a new pipe .

Why did you not use the Toyota Style AF sensor and the bung with the studs .

I have had those threaded ones after trying every thing ended up cutting them out.

I would move where it is dryer but I don`t care for the heat.

 

Yes I've wanted to do this for a while and will definately do it this summer. Can you share experience on your setup, carb, jets and what you found after putting the gauge in, what adjustments you made after etc, if it's not too much to ask? thanks!
