2"Body lift no 2nd or 4th gea

Sorry if this has been beaten to death. But I put in all the blocks for the 2 in body lift everything worked out. I've heard multiple times you.don't need to extend the shifter. (Performance accessories kit) But while I'm putting back the interior I try and shift into 2nd and 4th gear it'll slip out. Is this an issue I should be worried about before I put back everethink in cab

You might need to cut the hole in the floor slightly bigger, sounds like your shifter is hitting the back of the hole/opening causing it not to go into gear. What about reverse, I wouldn't be surprised if it affected reverse also. Or if you have a torch, you might be able to heat the shifter up and bend it so it clears.

Reverise goes in perfect. I'll cut a little of floor to clear it. If that does the work I'll use torch idea

When I had the body lift on mine, the floor pan would not let the shifter go all the way back. I just used some trimmers and clipped a little of the floor pan out.

Or now would be a good excuse for a short throw shifter; which raises the shifter's pivot point up about an inch (negating an inch of your body lift) and shortens the travel of the shifter handle. So if it's binding in 2nd, with the shorter travel, the handle won't need to go as far back and won't interfere with with the boot/floor board. But this is a $100-200 fix for a problem that could be handled by cutting the opening...or so I've read (I personally went the expensive route).

Also, check your 4Lo for binding with the shift boot installed, my 91 3.0 wouldn't shift to 4LO with a 1.5" body lift.
