4.3 tbi swap w56 strong enough?

I have a 1985 4runner that I want to swap a 4.3 tbi into. I would like to keep the stock transmission so I don't have to deal with the axles and driveline issues.
I read that a w56 is good for 300 ftlbs of torque and a 4.3 only puts out about 240 ftlbs . Is there anybody who is running this setup and are you having any issues?

I will be running 2.5 OME springs, 2 inch body lift for engine clearance, {will not install if it isn't needed}, and stock 4.11 gears, 35x12.50 tires. I don't crawl or mud bog I just drive it offroad sometimes for hunting.

Prolly more dependent on how you drive, a heavy right foot more chance of breaking something.

I've heard of this combo. But Toyota put the R151 behind the 22RET. So why not switch to R150 or 151; R150 will be cheaper and easier to source. Will need to decide on T-case. You'll have to buy adaptor anyway for 4.3 to tranny might as well buy it once.

if im thinking correct the r150 is what is put behind a 3.0. so I would need the an adapter for the bellhousing and the transfer case or can I use the 3.0 transfer case too? I wasn't trying to stay away from having to get custom drive shafts made.

well after some searching I found a r150f transmission and will be picking it up tomorrow. I will now be searching for adapters for the bell housing and the transfer case now.

Or you can get adaptor for W56 and run it. If it dies then get bell housing from a R151 to mate R150 tranny to the W56 adaptor.

For the offroading you do will you need the to run an RF1A t-case?
