1988 pickup LED headlight conversion issues

So I bought my dad some kick ass 6054 LED conversions. They have a standard H4 connector and plug right in, BUT do not power up...

We've tried crossing the wires via little jumper wires to see if swapping them will work. As it is his headlight plugs have THREE red wires going into the plug from the truck. (WTH?) We either have high beam when the combo selector switch is in low or low when its in the high beam position. No matter how we mix up the leads

I've previously purchased a normal H4 halogen conversion kit, that worked, but the light pattern SUCKED. However, these LEDs are being stubborn. Or is it the truck?

Has anyone had this issue? Any ideas? I found this forum via my google quests, and honestly a headache starts growing as soon as I hear/see the word google.

If there is a thread (or a hundred) I am sorry, but I wasn't able to find any, even after searching this site and signing up for a few days...

Any and all help is more appreciated than you know.
