I am in search of a few parts for my 1981 Toyota Pickup 4x4. I thought the frame was solid since I attacked the passenger side inner and outer frame rail by the gas tank with a hammer and chisel to come up with squat in terms of rot holes. I did some prying on the driver's side as well, but I believe I relied too much on my visual inspection over the manual since I got good news on the pass. side.


Well, last week I took my '81 on a mild trail ride for a few hours and must have upset the rot demons. I crawled underneath it to make sure all was ok in terms of the rigs mechanicals only to see this two plus inch of rot on the lower rail right before the driver's side front spring mount. My guess is the tail ride knocked the scale loose from the inside to expose the rot. it's on the inner rail as well in relatively the same spot.


What I'm looking for: this portion of frame rail (from a SWB and not a LWB model like in the pic), and a decent, rust free driver's door.

 

I probably know where there is a good drivers door at but not sure what shipping would be or who to use. Any suggestions on who to use for shipping?

 

Do you he a Fastenal close to you? They are the cheapest for just about anything regarding shipping. You just have to package it really well. I would obviously compensate you for that. Let e know.

How much for a set of non wing window style doors? I would need it shipped to me in Delaware, but as long as you have a local Fastenal I can get it done through them. You'd just need to box them up for me.

 

Actually Fastenal comes to my shop twice a week so that works well. I have a set of tan and a set of orange sr5 doors. Do you need the windows etc?

How is the bottom of the last door in the set of pics you posted as well as the rest in regards to rust?

 

I got a close up of the couple rust spots. They are inner door skin. The botton is very good suprisingly enough.
