I did a tuneup on my 86 yota 4x4 22r. When I changed the plugs, the number 1 smelled like a burnt electric would smell. The number 3 had some white looking buildup on the tip. All were n pretty bad shape. They had about 25,000 miles on them. Any reasons for my discovery? Thanks

 

Not sure what would cause that. What brand of plug you run? I just use NGK or Denso, Denso being the one I prefer. How are your plug wires? I get my Denso wires off of ebay. They fit great. Aftermarkets tend to work off of the cap. I wonder if it is possible that you were not getting a good connection resulting in a poor spark causing a smell like that. Just my .02 cents.
