Hello everybody. I'm asking for advice regarding a 94 4Runner with a 3.0. I need to overhaul or replace the engine. I've found these on craigslist, but what I want to know is how can I determine if these guys and their engines are legit?

I'm not against the 2.2 is that is a possibility.

Neither. The option of rebuilding yourself isn't an option? If you were to buy a rebuilt engine, buy from a local shop not an individual.
Also consider swapping in a different engine all together while you have the chance.
