Walmart brand synthetic

I noticed today that Walmart has a housebrand full synthetic oil. It meets the same oil industry standards as Mobil1, but is $7 cheaper per 5qt jug. Has anyone used it? Even though I only change my oil every 5k miles, the price difference is tempting.

It is my understanding that the Walmart brand is made by Quakerstate. It is supposedly a Group II oil, which is synthetic in name only.

You'll be better off going with a quality dino. If you want more oil info than you may have thought possible go to bobistheoilguy.com.

The price of the Mobil 1 5qt jug at Wal-Mart just went back down after a substantial increase in price. It is the only true 100% synthetic oil that can be bought just about anywhere, and one of the best oils around. Extend your drain interval and it is cheaper in the long run.
