Hi there sorry if i have done something wrong but im new here and to a hilux! I have a 3.0td surf 1996 and having a few teathing problems.... its a auto and if i put my foot down it cough and splutters. The other day it even cut out whilest going along. It also seems to be alot worse when going up a small hill.

 

Welcome!!!! Typically this is not my year range of preference but a little more information would be helpful. Especially stuff that you've already done. A little about the rig is nice too like mileage and set up.

This could be as simple as needing a tune up, vacuum lines, plugs, or even bad fuel after sitting too long.

 

Thankyou for the fast reply it was sat for 3 months before and have done a full tank of fuel since being back on the road so today i changed the diesel filter and found a fair amount water and alot of crap in the bottom... also when filling up with fuel you can only slightly pull the trigger as the fuel dont go down in the tank quick enough. Another problem that started yesterday morning is that it takes about 7 seconds of cranking before it will start. It has done 260k thanks again
