SE4RJ -- who wants to come

ok I'm about 80% sure I can make this. Its the weekend of may 14th in Tn. The place is called Tellico. There is a thread on it, in the main board.

It would be cool if we could get a couple of rigs together from Md, Va, and DC to head up there for a weekend. Leave early Friday morning, and come back late sunday night.

anyone up for this?

I'd like to go too, but we'll have a new born baby on our hands around May 3rd. Take some pics.

I'd like to go, but I don't think my rig is up to the challenges of Tellico...
Don't forget about your locker install!

Jason,

You have got to be kidding me, your rigs not up to the challenge, my butt. Which one the double ARB TLC of the Detroit loaded Runner. You better come, Jermey is in if his rig is running by then, and I'll be taking the 1st gen if I can get that ARB in by that time. Come on give in to the peer pressure.

i dont wanna hear that crap!

the trails that we will be doing were done last weekend by a 4Runner with 285 Dueler ATs and sliders (no locker, no winch, no nothing).

i will be there with open diffs and an extra pair of drawers.

i believe the smiley face was giving away the sarcasm, although i wouldnt take his truck anywhere far from home till he figures out whats making all the vibrations in the rear end. you can have all the lockers and protection in the world, but if your diff blows up it wont help you any.

True, that nasty noise needs to be fixed. It wasn't gear backlash after all?

Kinda treading in the OT area here, but nope... it wasn't gear backlash.. or the pinion nut, or the pinion bearings...

My next guess is either the driveshaft needs to be balanced, or the T-case output bearing is bad... Gonna R&R those this weekend.

I'm scared of Tellico... I don't like body damage. My rig is pristine.

Pristine my ass, you got the custom door mod on the 3rd gen, and then the LC has that one of a kind Custom Tree Mod , who wouldn't want to have one of those. Seeing how easy your flared popped off on the trails is the whole reason I don't want any to begine with.

Back on topic, if you guys coming from Virginia and further away want to meet up with us NC guys somewhere before we head into the area that would be great too, it would be pretty sweet to see a bunch of Yota's in line heading into Tellico. The Jeep guys might actually take notice, not like they won't when our rigs out climb and crawl all of thiers.

For me being in the High Point, Greensboro area, I would say a tops of 2 or so hours depending on the traffic in the narrow mountain roads. Also I've never made a road trip, much less a mountin trip with the 22RE yet . What road will you be coming into NC on?

well if you are coming into NC that far east you may as well come to raleigh and commute with us. Thats a helluva trip from maryland. You might want to come to NC thursday night, im sure we could accomidate a coutch for you, and then everyone could leave early friday. I checked on mapquest and it is at least 7.5 hours from raleigh, ouch.

Dude its 624 miles from my house to the camping grounds in NC right near tellico. I figure thats about 9-10 hours of driving. If I leave here at 7 am, I should be there by 4-5 pm. Am I missing something here?

Geez I guess I better look that up myself. That's gona be a hech of a drive to make for everyone. Jeremy, stop somewhere in Greensboro and i'll join you for the long haul, if these guys are coming in on 40, 85, or hwy52 they can meet us in Greensboro and we can caravan from there. Unless they take you up on that early Thursday idea, that would make the trip less of a hassel, and alot less stressful.
