I have a 98 tacoma 4x4 w/220k on it. When I let out on the clutch the truck shakes all over for a few seconds then smooths out. Only does it in forward gears, won't do it in reverse. I've changed plugs, plug wires, coils, u joints, carrier bearing, and entire rear end....nothing helped, any ideas???? I also took the transmission out and had the flywheel turned and replaced the throwout bearing and pilot bearing, didn't change the actual clutch because it's only got about 50 -60k on it and it still looks good

 

Do you have a center bearing connecting both driveshafts? Seems common on my buddies taco's. once the rubber goes, you get vibrations and worse during take off.

 

If your referring to the carrier bearing...yea that was the first thing I replaced

That's what I'm thinking too....woulda tried that first but they look good just checking visually. But maybe it's something I cant see just looking at them
