How do you adjust the hvac controls?

I'm putting my dash back together and I realized that lever that controls the vents (Upper, Lower, defrost) is off by one whole notch. If I have it set to feet only, it's on defrost. If it's set to upper and lower, it's doing feet only... etc.

I can't see where I can adjust this at. The truck wasn't running when I bought it so I have no idea if it was always that way or if it's because of something I did when I removed the dash.

There is a black clip that holds the cables in their place. If that cable is to far forward or bacwards it wont let the inner cable go to the correct position. Are the cables routed correctly? Here is a thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116.../#post52178856 that shows how they should be routed correctly. Go to the 5th or 6th picture for some ideas on how it should be.

From what I can tell, mine looked like it was routed the same way as it was in that picture, but the cable was pulled just a bit tight. It routed it a slightly different way and that gave me slack to adjust it properly. It must have gotten yanked a couple times when I pulled out the the whole system. Thanks!
