Question about oil pan and timing guides??

I have a 1991 toyota pickup with the 22re and I am in the process of doing the head gasket and timing chain, well I noticed the some of the plastic timing guides were broken and i am assuming the pieced are at the bottom of the oil pan. Well my question is should I drop the oil pan and clean it, or just let it be, becasue they will probally just remain at the bottom of the oil pan forever? what do you guys think? Thanks.

I had this happen also. I took the pan off debris everywhere all shapes and sizes. I would recommend taking the pan off. I cleaned it out. Do not use cork gasket use gasket maker I bought the cork gasket not knowing it leaks some I will go back and fix.
