So my radiator took a dump and now I am in the market for a new one. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions on which one to replace with and suggested websites to buy from? I have a 1994 Truck 4x4 22RE. Thanks

 

I got mine @ radiatorbarn.com, it was the 3row unit.

 

well since radiator barn seems to be gone.I never had any problems with the several radiators I bought from them.

i have been looking for a good place that has the all metal radiators which I like over plastic and aluminum .

Just what style are you looking for??

 

I think Radiator barn sold CSF radiators. I have used a couple from them (too bad they got bought by some crappy mega auto parts place) and have been very happy. I would look for CSF brand again.

 

I got an ll aluminum radiator from ebay. 3 row. Its a little thicker than stock? But I like it! Ill share link if interested.

Well, at_autoparts is the seller on ebay who I purchased my unit from, and it was $165 shipped. Now he has it up for double that...? I found the same one by another seller for less, but still more than I paid. Give and offer to the seller, I really like this unit. Very well made, dissipates heat better than steel, wont rust.... although weight is not a big issue on these monster trucks but it weighs less too. I also saw a 2-core option which is as thick as the stock... i think these engines deserve the best cooling they can get!

i bought an all aluminum one off eBay my friend also bought one before me he loves it holds a half gallon more good price to

 

In my opinion, a radiator is a radiator. If it's good at cooling down liquid, that works for me. I put one on from autozone, cost $125. Works great, cools down the fluid, imagine that! I'm not looking for longevity here, the first radiator lasted 19 years, no way this truck is gonna last another 19!

That is until 10 + -1 compression
Big valves big port big cam
Hot coil + ing box
Tires that are to big
Heavy on the pedal all the time

For us idiots that have fun at the great cost of our trucks and safety we might need something over stock
But you are so right cheaper is better

 

Dont get a thicker core radiator than what you need,t oo cool an engine will not run properly.

 

a 3 row radiator is probably way too much for a 22r or 22re.

but for a 3vz? cooler is the only way to go.

 

I like being able solder a radiator if need be .

I guess I am biased I bought one of those Aluminum core with plastic tanks till it was all over with the towing bill I had About $1200.00 so yes I am biased.

I run a 3 row in my 22REC with no over cooling the thermostat works just fine keeping the temperature where it should be.

 

Yeah, im sure the thermostat knows what it's doing... So, it's better to be able to cool quicker when need be than worry about overcooling...

 

Ever since i replaced the cheap, autoparts store plastic tank radiator, my 22re stopped overheating.

 

i use a CSF three core all metal.
no problems.
