88 fj62 fuel injeciton

We own an 88 FJ-62. The lat time it was in the shop it cost $1300 to have a TPS changed. They got to my us! 4 months later the truck has a new FI problem. it runs fine on steady throttle and acceleration conditions. When releasing the accelerator for the steady throttle position, it acts like the engine just dies. If you try to run the vehicle at steady throttle position after a decel, the truck lunges back and forth until you accelerate again and find a "sweet spot" where it runs properly again. After reading some of the posts about the TPS, it would seem to be the problem.

I have some good experience with Bosch L-Jetronic systems. Is the Toyota FI akin to L-Jetronic or is it a completely "mapped" system like the so called Bosch "Motronic"? In the L-Jet Bosch, the TPS is not a sensor but rather, a switch that signals that there is a demand for power. Does the Toyota injection work that way. After reading the posts on FI problems here, it seems that the system is airflow controlled and very similar to Bosch L-Jet. Does anyone know a source for genuine Toyota TPS devices?
