Hello gentleman, im 100% new to toyota and im starting out swinging for the fence. Long story short I submerged my truck by accident and destroyed my motor. I got a replacement motor and here is where it starts.

I have a 1990 yota 4wd 5speed that im swapping motors in. I got a donor from a 94 and I have everything sorted out except the distributor. I know people swap them out from what research I have done but I havent found the exact info i need. I want to use the new style distributor that came with the donor motor but the connectors are different between the two. I have done what I think will work but I am looking for feed back to see if it will or not. All help is much appreciated.

What I did was cut the harness off of the old distributor and connected it to the engine harness. I then used the pigtail I cut from a newer harness and wired it to the harness I cut from the old distributor matching the colors accordingly ie: red to red, black to black, green to green and white to white. I have pictures of all of this but I cant post them
