89 4runner no heat

I bought a 89 4runner with a 86 22r motor in it. The blower works great but there is no heat combing through the vents. First thing I did was flush the cooking system 2 times with the additive. I focused on the heater core, went back and fourth until a lot of clear water was coming through. Then compressed the air out of the system. Water was flowing through and cycling through the hoses. Filled her back up, no heat. Then I replaced the water pump and thermostat. Still no heat whatsoever. I am open to any suggestions. Although water was flowing through the heater core fine, I do not know if that rules it out. Also, the only hose that is getting hot is the top hose leaving the radiator. The 2 hoses going into the firewall to the heater core are cold.

Check your heater levers are working. Under the hood next to firewall check that valve works.

I took that off and replaced it with a piece of straight piping to rule that out as an issue.

What really has me wondering is that I just thought of the idea to disconnect both in and out hoses into the firewall that go to the heater core and put them together to complete the circle, but without the heater core. They cycled, but with cold water. So somewhere (I'm guessing around the block) there is a blockage or something not allowing any hot water to leave the engine. The only hot hose is the too radiator hose.
