I believe there is some sort of "pad" that rides between them. Or I just imagined that. I will look in the morning.

Why does your engine move up and down? Time for new Engine Mounts??

Is it possible to twist the air intake hose away from the coolant hose.

I know I did that a few times.

You could take your old hose cut it open and cable tie it at the point of rubbing if you are unable to move the air intake hose.

My upper radiator hose rests against my air intake hose, there is a pad on the upper radiator hose for this reason, checkout the pic.

I have never seen that on any of these engines I have seen.

Quite a few !!

Where did you get that or is the hose original from new??

You could just put some foam door insulation between the two. It's adhesive and will take the brunt of the movement and not wear down your hoses. You'd want to put it on both hoses though so the movement occurs on the insulation, not the hose surface.

I don't remember where I got it, but there looks to be all kinds of stuff like it out there. I just googled "radiator hose sleeve" many options available.
