Throttle Body Overbore/ Air Intake Mod
Hello to all,
I'm new here as well and have already gotten a lot of good info off this board. I'm considering getting an overbored throttle body for my 97 4Runner 3.4L.
Has anyone else done it and is it worth the money? I already have a catback sys, deckplate mod, and Amsoil air filter on it.
I'm also very interested in the Dr. Z air intake mod for a 97. Has anyone tried it? Any cautionary advice to give before I try it?
Thanks for any help!

WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!
I'm in Denver, too. More specifically, Lakewood.
A bored t/b depends on the application. I've heard that if you have a supercharged engine, it won't make much of a difference. It also might make the engine run lean.
E-mail me and I'll forward you my cell phone number. We can get together and chat.

Overboard!!
Check out www.doaracing.com. They do overbores for 3vze engines (2nd gen V6). Not sure about third gen.

Thanks for the info. I checked with them already and was told that they are not doing them yet, but perhaps in the future. My 4Runner is not supercharged, so I'm hoping to see some improvement out of a new TB.
As for the Intake mod, any thoughts on that one for a 1997?
Thanks again!

I have a K&N FIPK. It worked great on the normally aspirated engine, but on my supercharged engine, it caused it to run lean. It also started to cause damage to the inner fender.
The only other company that I'm aware of that makes intakes in Injen. I didn't like the design because it put the intake right over the exhaust manifold. Too much hot air getting into the intake.
I would stick to the deckplate mod. Its cheaper, too.
Checkout EL Prototypes . They sell bored t/bs.
