Calling all stout owners!

I'm wondering what other stout owners have used to replace the worn out/missing weather stripping on doors. Weather stripping around my doors was replaced with half inch heater hose by previous owner in attempt to seal doors. My truck is at body shop for new paintings body work. I have searched the web and stores for original weather stripping with no luck. I've found plenty of universal style weather stripping. Just wondering what others have tried.

Rock Auto has weatherstripping for 72-78 pickups. Not sure what year your Stout is? Looks like a nice truck!

I'm thinking of buying what Rock Auto has for sale. I don't know if it's just "universal" weather stripping or not. The parts on Rock Auto will tell you what applications (vehicles) they fit. Some have a very wide year range and also fit other kinds of trucks like ford and gmc etc., but this weather stripping only says "Toyota Pickup 1972-1978"

Or if all else fails, try the dealership...

They are great trucks like all Toyotas. But parts are extra hard to find. The other stouts I've seen have been dropped to the floor or rat rotted. I've had to do lots of mods to replace the broken, missing, and rusted.

Nobody makes aftermarket weather stripping for those that I know of, but I've restored a few old Land Cruisers and I just use universal seals. I've found that the aftermarket stuff is also just universal material cut and sealed to look like its correct. Go to you're local window shop/ custom glass shop and chat with the owner. I bet he works on allot of classics and will be able to help you.

I just recently finished a 1967 FJ45 Land Cruiser, I found most of my weather stripping and glass seals thru my local glass shop. Good luck.
