Recently bought a '93 t100. It failed smog in california and i need to get it to pass. The check engine light was off when i arrived at the smog place and was on when i left. Not to happy. Anyways my EGR valve failed and now my truck is a gross polluter. Any advice would be awesome. I am currently sourcing a new egr valve. Other than that i have replaced the battery, spark pugs and plug wires. I am really happy with the truck just want to to pass smog so i can really strat putting money into it. Any advice on a lift and wheel/tire combo would be awesome. my budget is $1500 as of now.

Pull your EGR off and clean it out, that's how I got my 81 to pass smog. It was clogged up. Anyways, find a pass or don't pay smog place and keep coming back until you got everything sorted out. If the guy is nice enough, he'll tell you which components aren't working and how to fix them. I passed on the 3rd time, had to replace leaking vacuum lines and clean the clogged EGR.
