82 22R BVSV Bypass?
So while replacing my intake manifold gasket yesterday I managed to snap the top off of the BVSV that controls the EGR.
Would I be able to bypass this valve all together and have the EGR stay open full time?

The way it is setup on my '87 (it might be different on your '82), if I remember correctly, is the BVSV controls the AAP when cold and switches to the EGR when hot. You could connect the incoming vacuum hose to the vacuum hose going to the EGR modulator, but you would be bypassing the AAP and allowing the EGR to run when the truck is cold. The AAP is basically a vacuum operated accelerator pump in the carburetor to provide a richer mixture when pushing the accelerator when the engine is cold. Basically, you could have the EGR run all the time, but your truck would not run well when cold. The BVSV would probably be easy to find and a junk yard and fairly cheap.
