i dont generally post questions like this (especially on here. im mainly on pirate and rarely come here), i just need to get this answered so i can install this differential soon in a friends truck.

ive set up a few toyota diffs before and am having a tough time with this one.

using a solid spacer with .035'' shims set to .005-.006 backlash.
i generally use my yukon gear book for reference on the different gear meshes but this particular one isnt showing up.

so my question is, do you guys think this gear mesh is within tolerances?

 

Your a little shallow and on the edge of the teeth. That yukon book should have it.

that is some good info.

i think i need to add quite a bit more than .035" shims to get a good pattern
