Back half...Qustions.
Well my deal of a life time came to a complete stop yester day when I went to patch some rust holes. Seen that my pass side rail was shot.
So went to day got some 2x3 1/4 tubeing (I know most use 1/8th but I got it the same price as 1/8th) and plane on cuttin from cab back off. What is the best way to lay this out, take a angel finder and set it on top of the rail and go off it or can I just lay the frame down and lay the tubeing on top of the old and go from there.. Allso what is everone useing for leaf mounts and shackle hangers? Im planeing on going back as stock as possible I bought this little truck to be a daily.

I'd assume either way would suffice. at the least, make a template for the original frame rail by tracing it on cardboard or something rigid. finding the angles wouldn't be a bad idea either - this way you have both and they should both be fairly accurate for what you're doing. don't forget to sleeve the connection for added strength.
as for mounts and hangers, there are plenty of pre-fabbed mounts that you can buy online. sure you can make them yourself, but time=$ and they may be nicer than making them yourself.

Don't give up on your Yota man just stay determined; just started the same procedure on my 94 4x4 pickup, except I'm going from just behind the torison bar brackets (center of door) all the way back on both sides! I'll be using 5 inch 1/8 thick channel and square tubing for crossmembers; I'll try to figure out how to post pics as it comes along; keep the faith!
