1992 3vze oxygen sensor install

Hello again 1992 SR5 4RUNNER 3VZE 3 LITER V6 My fuel consumption is pretty bad and has been since i purchesed this truck 4 years ago. on my dash the check engine light has been on all that time but there dosent seem to be anything wrong with the motor . I have been told that the oxygen sensor is gone and by replacing it will turn the warning light off and bring my fuel consumption back to where it should be. Dose that sound right and is there any tricks that i should know about the install because it seems strait forward . Just unbolt the two nuts holding the sensor in place and unplug sensor wire plug then plug in new senor bolt up re connect new sensor wires as far as i can see that is it i just want to be sure

Pretty much it.

But those nuts are most often just lumps of rust if you are in the great liquid brine belt.

So at times getting them off can be quite the challenge .

After you install, pull your efi fuse for a few minutes to reset the ecu. Hopefully after that you'll have no more cel.
