Question six or eight

i have a 90 4runner and thinking of getting a new version. my question is what would be the best engine. I have 240tho with out any problems and have heard that the 4 bangers are the best?

If you are gonna get a 4th gen, then i would go with the v6, more horsepower, better mileage, smaller wheight, but not as much torque. It just sounds like such an awesome engine! toyota really has something with that one. but thats just my preference, if i were to sell my '90 (dreaming)

Get a 3rd gen, 2000 sport with a 3.4 and toss a SC under the hood. Toss that 2nd gen into my scrap pile so I can strip it and use a few parts here and there on mine. lol. The 2nd gens are not so bad but if you have a chance a 3rd gen would be wise. Blue
