1985 4x4 axles
I have been working on a 1985 toyota pickup and have come to the point where I need to probably re gear it. I have read a bunch of posts saying stock gearing is 4.10 and for 35's I should go to 5.29. All that is fine. Weird thing is I must be doing something wrong, but I mark a point on my driveshaft and a I mark a spot on my tire and the drive shaft turns just over two turns per tire rotation which is WAY wrong? Please shed some light? I also attached pictures of the axles as maybe they are from the wrong vehicle?

yup u have 4.10`s
if you turn both wheels which is what happens driving each rear wheel turned 1 complete rev to 4.10 of driveshaft.
since you are turning one while the other is stationary then it will take 2 revs to accomplish the same.
