I don't know about brands or anything - but I needed a new exhaust pipe on my truck before DMV would test my emissions and the 3 auto repair shops that are near the Chandler DMV all recommended this little tiny shop on the south side of Broadway just west of Gilbert called Mad Hatter Mufflers and Brakes. Its this super small, 2 bay shop with 2 guys that run the place. They were super fast, extremely inexpensive and let me in the shop so we could all discuss the shap I wanted the new pipe to be - then they welded it up and I was on my way - I don't think I was there more than 45 minutes, and at least 20 of that was discusssing how I wanted the pipe shaped. I will go back there for any exhaust related anything I would need.

While I was there we were discussing the fact that my cat is most likely the original one, thus its 24 years old with over 202k miles on it and he did give me some recomendations, but I don't recall off the top of my head what they were.

If you google them - read the reviews - this one is applies to your situation:

Overall Excellent
Replaced my stolen catalytic converter for the lowest price, and welded a section of rebar to the side to prevent them from stealing my new one. I will go again when I need brakes or muffler work.
