2.7l Stumbling and running Rough help

Engine normally starts up and runs a little rough but eventually smooths out, same thing this morning . I let it warm up ok but got on it getting on the freeway pretty hard and all of a sudden I got a power loss and the engine felt like it was gurgling, stumbling and barely idling . Revved it a few times and it wouldn't clear up so it wasn't an air bubble in the fuel line...could it be fuel pressure regulator or?? It happened all of a sudden.

No chck engine light, and no codes either. Replaced fuel pressure regulator, cleaned MAF, fuel filter, fuel pump, coolant temp sensor...still runs a little rough. Only thing left is injectors? Anyone?

Sounds like you might have more than one problem. Stumbling at start up could be typical needs a tune up type stuff, plugs, wires or maybe injectors. Or signs of head gasket issues. Falling on it's face when you tried to gas it sounds more like a TPS issue. You may not have a CEL on but I'd scan it anyway to see if there's anything stored.

when was the last time u did plugs? also how many miles and when sitting at a light does it miss fire at all? my wifes highlander was missing but when u got on the gas it would stumble and not want to go anywhere unless u feathered it on and off the gas. was a bad coil pack.

Ok fixed. Here's what it was:

Took it to the Stealer (Dealer). They recommended a full tune up and EFI and Throttle Body flush and clean. I took them up on the flush and EFI clean, $240...oh well. It ran OK but still misfired on the way home...changed out cap, rotor, wires, and ugh...were those really plugs in there I pulled out? OMG...I guess that little Arab dealer guy I bought the truck from 4 months ago put the old ones back in when he said they just tuned it up to pass smog..what a jerk. All 4 were destroyed and looked like a muddy/gelatinous carbon cupcake on the tips of them. Truck runs SO awesome now. Thanks for the heads up on something so simple, didn't know plugs could foul that quick that badly .
