Driving w/ my EFI relay bypassed

Title says it. I had a no-start the other day. Cranked w/o firing. I threw a paperclip in the diag port jumping fp and b+ and she runs fine now.

So here's the situation: new fuel pump last summer which obviously runs fine, I recently went though the wiring harness and wrapped it up nice and tight. It was in better shape than any wiring I've ever seen on a '94, no corrosion at all. From searching I seem to be seeing that this could mean either a bad relay or some faulty wiring going to/coming from the relay. I would like to do a little tracking w/ my multimeter but it's dang cold here right now and I have other projects going. The truck runs as is now anyway.

What is most probable? How often does this relay actually go "bad"? I don't mind getting a new one off fleabay but I don't like throwing parts around.

EG1-206 of the FSM pretty much shows what I need to do to check the relay, I forgot about testing just that piece. Oh well, I can get off my ass and do that!

If you jumped the fuel pump then it has to do with your COR (Circuit opening relay) or your AFM.

Yep, COR, not EFI relay. On your truck is behind the passenger kick panel. It's a safety feature, shuts off the fuel if you crash and lose consciousness. They're very easy to fix, although if the contact fails to close when current is passed through either coil you may have a break in the wire, not worth fixing at that point. Usually just dirty contacts which can be cleaned with fine sandpaper, occasionally the capacitor. I did a video if you need further assistance with it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8l9QvLAajA

Great video man. I've currently got my Fp jumpered to B+, but I think I'm gonna pull out and check my COR. Thanks.
