water spraying out of radiator.

Hi. last week i helped a friend replaced a timing chain cover and head gasket on his 93 pickup. we got the truck running but when we went to take off the radiator cap the coolant shot out of the radiator about 5 feet in the air, the truck had only been running for about 30 seconds. my friends put the last little bits of the engine back together with out me, but he did tell me that he had problems with a hose ( hose runs from bottom of IM to the heater control valve.) he told me he bent the pipe that it connects to and had to cut some of the pipe off and add a longer hose. i have look at the truck and now im am out of ideas any help would be nice. thanks

Sounds like the headgasket lost its seal and was pressurizing the water tunnel...maybe the head bolts were not tightened properly....or a few of them were "missed"?
