I was searching online for a reman carb for my 22r and ran across a stock type replacement carb new from Hong Kong .and it was alot cheaper than a reman. autozone wanted $400 something for a reman carb lol .that wasn't going to happen.I was looking into a weber carb swap but I'd rather have a direct bolt on and go type swap with no adapter plates to mess with or tuning or anything other than maybe a few simple adjustments.so has anyone ever tried one?by reading the comments left from others it looks like he has sold a lot of china carbs for the Toyota land cruisers and has alot of very happy customers

 

If no one has ever used one I guess I might just have to buy one and test it out and write a review on it.I know china stuff isnt know to be the best quality but he has sold alot of landcruiser carbs and has no negative comments about anything

I wouldn't. It might work fine for a few years. But they use crappy materials in china so it wont last very long.

 

Just a few years would be better than mine now.It leaks into the intake manifold over night and it doesnt start in the morning with out a special ritual of cranking and pumping.The some times I have to let it sit for 5 min before cranking again just to get it started. its just getting old real quick.and the colder it gets the worse it is

 

id rebuild your stock carb. They are a way better carb.

 

Been there done that 2x and it still has some kind of internal fuel leak

No it can't be rebuilt. if u think you can do any better ill ship it to you and you can try.I have rebuilt many carbs and several transmission I know what I'm doing and I'm not the 1st person to have this prob with a stock carb .one guy had the same prob rebuilt it prob still there bought another used one had same prob rebuilt it and was still junk.Im not your average shade tree mechanic that asked autozone employees how to repair things either I'm a diesel mechanic

Yes I can do better. I would simply take it apart and replace the broken component of the carb. Why is the fuel leaking? And were is it leaking from? Fix it. Just because you failed doesnt mean its impossible.

 

I agree it prob could be fixed but after a while you get tired of messing with it and being late to work so you just cut your losses and replace it.and I have no clue were its leaking from but it drains the fuel bowl even though the discharge jets are higher than the fuel level so you tell me were its leaking?the only thing I haven't tried was leak detector poured into to fuel bowl and letting it sit all night and use a uv light the next morning to see where it's been leaking from

Replace it if you want. But I wouldnt use a china part. Im sure many will agree. And in the future dont say it cant be repaired.
