I have found a 1985 shortbed pickup for sale. I have the bed for a good deal if I want it. Just wanted to make sure of a few things.

1. The short bed will fit my extended cab.
2. What tools will I need to remove the bed off the old truck.
3. What are the steps in removing a bed, I know disconnecting the wires and gas filler cap... anything else special?

Also, I'm gonna get some spare hubs out of the deal too

 

1. Yes.
2. Wrench, socket, screwdriver.
3. That's pretty much it.

 

Xtra cab bed is a shortbed.

some penetrating oil for the rusty bolts. or some kind of saw/ grinder to cut the rusty bolts off.

rest of it sounds good.

 

Thanks for the info... After some PB blaster, the sellers impact wrench, and $100. I now have a solid bed sitting in my back yard waiting for some paint. Got new taillights and a tailgate to go with it After my next paycheck, I might have to go back and get more parts from him.
