1988 pickup ball joints

I just bought moog ball joints to replace the old ones and the two uppers are not the same. One is identical to old ones and the other one fits but looks like it has been redesigned. Just wondering if this will make a difference.

I was recently made aware of the fact that Sankei 555 was being sold by Moog(packaged as Moog). I presume that's the case with yours. One is likely a Moog design, and the other an OEM-type design(if not specifically OEM).

Will it make a difference? Most likely. Moog sucks IMO. So my bets are on the other one lasting longer.

Thanks. The one that was identical was stamped 555 and looked a lot stronger than the moog.

I should state that mine could very well have been repackaged (from a return) from a lower grade MOOG to the OEM Sankei ball joints.

Now that I have learn of Partsgeek.com from a member here, they sell OEM ball joints, even though Rock Auto does not.
