New 85 4Runner here!

Hey guys, I'm a new member here. I recently purchased an 85 4runner. I think I got a decent deal on it.. I'll post some pics up to get some opinions soon

It's a light silver color with darker graphics on the side, this sound like the original color for an 85?

It's got a 5 in lift and 36 in military tires. First thing I plan to do is 5.29's and a locker

This is my third solid axle yota, and my DD is an 07 lifted taco 6speed

Anyways I just wanted to introduce myself!

Welcome,

You not only forgot the pics, but also the price paid and specs.

Auto or manual, etc.

What is it with the massive amounts of 85 runner new members making us wait for pics this is frickin preposterous.

And you have to add military tires to make it worse my goodness!!!!!

Well here's the pics guys! She ain't perfect by far, but I think it's a decent starting place. I'll probably end up with some fiberglass panels swapped in and hopefully fresh paint in the near future

I paid $2300. Seem like a good deal? It runs good!

I think it looks like a pretty solid rig. I think you found a good deal with that one. How does it run? How many miles?

It runs good. Starts right up, needs an a/c line that the last guy broke swapping the fuel filter then the air will work. There's a small pin hole in the gas tank I need to repair

The truck has 230K on it but the motor was rebuilt at 160K

Goes in and out of 4wd perfectly and clutch feels good.

It's SCARY on the road right now because there's a ton of slack in the steering box and the bias tires follow every groove in the road. Hopefully, it'll drive much better once I do a hi steer and ifs box and get some more road friendly ties. I'm thinking 37 in mtr's and swap in some 5.29 gears

You've got a lift tires and wheels and a good running motor out of the gate. Any gears or lockers? If not that would be my next move so you could wheel her hard. Then move to the body paint sliders and bumpers

Dang ask and you shall receive!! Looks good to me besides the obvious rusty panel work no big deal. Start a build thread when the process begins

Nice truck!
Looks like you might have a newer body on a 1985 frame judging by the paint scheme and the interior.
