Cracked door hinge -- repairable?

Hello all. First post.

I just got my truck (88 pickup, base, with an 89+ bed on it) back after a few years of it sitting in my dad's driveway rotting. With a bit of work and some fluid changes, I've gotten it running like a champ. While he had it, I guess there was an incident with the driver's door. The check bar broke off from the mount on the frame, and the upper hinge is cracked. Additionally, the door doesn't close flush at the top, I'm not sure if this is because of the hinge or if the door is bent. I'm sure I can find the pin that mounts the check bar somewhere, but I'm concerned about the upper hinge. Is it repairable? I don't weld so i'd be taking it somewhere, but I'd like to know what the scope of the repair is. Here's a picture of the crack:

Looks to be weld able but you might take the door off and then weld it, what exactly happened to the door to break it?

The story i've heard is that he and a friend were pushing it out of the driveway to jump start the truck, he didn't close the door all the way, and when it hit the small hill at the bottom it swung open and caught on the fence and pulled most of the way back. There's some pretty significant damage to the door itself (which i'm planning on replacing shortly) and the front fender, from where the door crunched in (which I'm not sure what to do about)

If it's easier to take the door off to weld, I may just take it to a body shop and have them do the weld and mount the door properly. That sounds like one of those things I'd spend a whole weekend adjusting, and if it's going to be off anyway...

A good welder should be able to fix that up in a couple of minutes...
