Exclamation new trans/clutch... wont go in gear

I've just put in a new transmission and clutch kit in my 1983 pickup 4x4 and cant get the clutch to release. It wont go into any gears while running. My slave cylinder was used on the old tranny but its only about 3 weeks old. i have a brand new master cylinder in the truck also and have bled the system several times. The clutch is in right ( tranny was pulled back off to double check). it just doesnt seem like the slave cylinder is pushin far enough. If i pull the release fork by other means i can get it to release. Also the pedal bracket is in good shape. I have searched all over but can only find answers that state what ive already looked into. Any suggestions? I am currently stuck at a buddies house ( luckily we work together) so any suggestions and answers will be great!

It could be possible that the input shaft is still spinning with the clutch pedal depressed and engine running due to it binding up in the pilot bearing. I've had that happen before even though the problem appeared to be in the clutch hydraulics. Worth a check

Thanks for the reply. I checked everything out while i had it back out and everything looked good. It took another slave cylinder to get it working right. I still dont quite understand why the other one wasnt working out. It was only about a month and a half old but it had been on the old tranmission.

for what it's worth... my slave cylinder blew out while i re-installed my motor. i think there must be some weird pressure on it when everything comes together and they have a tendency to give out.
