Hello all,
I have searched for a fix for this problem and found many possible fixes but none have worked so far..
The truck:
94 22re auto 103k
The problem:
Upon startup the engine makes little to no noise, after the engine idles down a rattle is very noticeable. When I put the truck in drive, step on the break and give it some gas, the rattle goes away. I poked around with a stethoscope and the noise sounds almost uniform everywhere but gets marginally louder twords the front and rear of the block.
What I have done:
Engnbldr head
268c cam
TOYOTA t-chain set
All gaskets.

Sorry for the length of my rambling but any help or suggestions are appreciated.

 

I also listened to the trans, the noise is oddly loud on the bell housing... I know very little about Toyota automatics, is there a possibility that the noise is coming from the trans?

 

I also have this issue !! it almost sounds like rod bearings or piston pins but under load or decel it is quieter its light load that it sounds like its gonna almost blow up guy at toyota said it sounds like rod bearings he said I shouldn't worry About it blowing up !! but I don't like it !!!!! this motor runs awsome so I would like it to last!

but ya its bad in 1st and a little in 2nd at light load so if you or anyone knows help would be greatly apreacheated

 

but ya 79toyoda these autos are usually pretty good my old autos were the best autos I've had these 22re's are noisy thats just how they are but if yours is like mine it is too much!

Ya my subaru did that! just was loose!! mine ain't that as its stick its motor for sure!!
