I have a 1981 Toyota SR5 1/2 ton longbed 2WD pickup with 22R, and 5 speed manual tansmission. Right now it seems that highway and citt combined driving (I prolly do slightly more city driving) that I am getting about 20MPG is that about right?

20 sounds good to me, my 90 22re is gettin 16-18, it needs a little work though, i would love to be getting 20-22 again.

That is very respectable. I usually get around 18 mpg in town and 22 mpg on the highway, but my new tires have killed that and I don't know if its the ethinol in the winter gas or driving in 4x4 with the snow but I had a tank of 14 mpg I'm gunna be pissed if it doesn't go back up

 

It could be better since it's a 2wd. My '86 4wd w/ a 22R when it was fairly stock got between 23-25 mpg.
