3.0 auto 4runner general question

ok so I bought this 4 runner then had to do bunch of work to get it to pass e-test. When I got it it was only running on 5 of 6 that is now fixed.

it seems to be bit lacking in power not sure if it is the nature of the beast or not

it seems that it always pushing to go . like if going down the road and I back off a bit it slows fairly fast ( I know truck needs to be toed out yet)

it just seems to have to work fair bit all the time maybe I'm just use to my old V8 ford truck

Welcome to Yotas, low hp is comon for a second-gen, especially when trying to compare it to a v8. Also, you have to remember that speed limits 18-20 years ago were pretty much 55 as a max, even on the interstates, not 65-70 as most are today. They get most torque at lower speeds, and are built to impress at low speeds, not cruising down the highway blowin past traffic.

Care to give a bit more info on this?? " like if going down the road and I back off a bit it slows fairly fast ( I know truck needs to be toed out yet)"

well I know the front end needs an alignment it's not toed so hard you can see it but it does wear tires (seen on set removed) toing in will cause drag to some degree

it could be I'm not use to the 4x4 thing either. it acts almost like the truck is under load when I back off

are the automatic trucks worse than stick

speed limits here are 80-100km
