How much can a 4cyl Tacoma tow?

Would like to ask what the max weight anyone has pulled with the basic 4 cylinder 4X4 Tacoma.
I know what the owners manual states, but would like to hear from peoples who have towed.
I'm looking to tow 6600 pounds with tongue weight of 500 - 700 lbs.
Again, thank you.

Go by what the owner's manual states.

Do they even make a class 4 or 5 trailer hitch for a Tacoma? A Class 3 is typically only a 5000lb rated 500lb tongue weight.

I agree with Wabbit. Truck can "probably" do it, but if something does happen.........

Well, the manual states 7000 lbs, tongue weight of 600 lbs.
Just wanted to know if anyone has pulled that much.

I wouldn't. I have pulled my other yota on a trailer before, its about 4700lb on top of a 1000lb trailer with my 01 3.4 V6. And it was way to heavy.

I have 4.56 gears in mine and it pulls my 3000lb camping trailer pretty good. Freeway, hills, its able to stay up to speed. But any more and its gonna be draggin donkey. Especially with a 4cyl.
