Mysterious cut lines

Hey Guys-

I could use a little light shed on these two lines. My 4Runner runs cherry. Great MPG's, power, 4wheel drive. All is great. I bought this back in June and after preparing for some PM I noticed this...

there are 2 lines mounted to the firewall (just above the blue wire tie in left of photo) that have been hacked off. These go down along the frame and then cut again (or rusted off). I have no clue as to what they were for... Picture is here...

Thanks.

Do you have a rear heater? Those might be the rear heat lines but I would think that if they were cut you'd have a coolant leak.

I would think rear heater lines as well. Here's a thread I wrote years ago: corroded heater lines

Sweet. Thanks guys. Both answers help. I do have the rear heater and it works well enough and no leaks as this was "fixed" at least a year ago. So now I have to climb under there and see if the hose was re-routed by the PO. Or perhaps just "blowing" heat (from somewhere else?).

It would still blow air, might be warmish. Those lines would be for the coolant to run through the rear heater core which would make the air actually warm/hot.
