Hi, I have a rare little truck, its called a factory conversion hilux, they were sent to a shop in Southern California before they went to a dealership as 2wd, obviously, the shop installed four speed cj7 front axles, but installed the Toyota front disks on them. Used the jeep speed trans and transfer case. The guy i bought it from a few years ago was the mech. for it for 2o plus years and installed a 5 spd, toyota gearbox and transfer case, that was previously in a 22r truck. mine currently has a 20r. I have bought a 94 22re from a 4x4 from a friend and want to install it. my questions are: are motor mounts on a 20r and 22re in the same location? and I have read that in 85 the deck height was increased, does this mean the entire engine is taller? will i have to cut a huge hole in the hood to accomodate the 22re? thanks.
