So tonight I decided to throw on netflix and watch a cool movie. Ended up watching "Square Grouper".
It was about smuggling stuff in the 1970-1980s down in the everglades. In the film they refer to this truck as "the big red wagon". managed to take a snapshot of it but only the front, lame I know. but anyways is this big red wagon talk just some swamp mumbo jumbo or is it legit.

For a second I thought you were talking about an FJ55 wagon, but those look nothing like the picture you posted.

Maybe they were referring to the Trekker when it first debuted? I would place the time in the film at prob 1977ish.

Trekkers came out in 81, that truck is a 79-81, movie would have been out sometime after that, not '77.

It is not a trailblazer. The rear cap was raised above the cab.

 

Well, like he says, there were no Trekkers or Trailblazers until 1981. But from that angle, it does kinda look like an 81 Trekker.

79-81 4WD = round headlights with that grille style.


And the movie is "about" the 70's and 80's, not from them. It's from 2011 actually...

 

So I did some more research on the smuggling in Everglades city, it says it was during the 1980's. So I guess that opens the playing field a little. The footage of this truck in the movie is from actual news footage too.
