3.0 dies when cold

3.0 dies when cold
Hey guys,
I have a 1990 SR5 Extended cab with a 3.0. Truck runs great when warm. Here are my symptoms:
Cold start on first crank no problem, when you go into gear if still cold it will die and not want to start back, (Like flooding on a carb). If I start in the morning and let it run 5 mins or so, no problem. No codes. Recent maintenance includes new oxygen sensor, new knock sensor and pigtail, new TPS, new timing belt and head gaskets, new cat and muffler on headers. Truck has had most mods, like headers, K&N air cleaner, was told AFM was modded. Again runs excellent when warm.
Any suggestions?
